Robert J. Burvant

Bob Burvant has been an attorney at King, Krebs & Jurgens since its inception in 1985. His primary practice areas include commercial litigation and business advices,  focusing on banking and bankruptcy-related matters, construction matters and debtor/creditor disputes. Bob considers honest and open communication to be a cornerstone of his practice. "Clients know I'll give them a true assessment of their risks, and not when it's too late to achieve their best result." In his 25 years of practice, he has handled a a number of complex litigation matters in the financial and construction areas.

Bob was born in New Orleans, graduated from Jesuit High School in 1976 and received his undergraduate degree in English from Louisiana State University in 1981. He graduated from LSU with honors and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. Bob went on to earn his juris doctorate cum laude from Tulane Law School in 1984.

REPRESENTATIVE MATTERS:

  • Representing owners and contractors in a number of construction disputes relating to land-based and maritime properties
  • Representing banks and financing companies in a variety of creditor/borrower and commercial lease disputes
  • Representing the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and its affiliated entities with regard to the investigation and subsequent litigation involving failed banks and savings and loans in and outside of Louisiana
  • Providing business advices and litigation representation to regional companies working on the Mississippi River
  • Providing business advices and defended lender liability actions on behalf of financial institutions
  • Defending creditor interests and prosecuted creditor claims in a variety of actions in bankruptcy court
  • Providing representation to local and national clients regarding lien rights and security interests, including the removal of improperly filed construction and oil well liens
