Len R. Brignac
Len Brignac is a registered patent attorney and works primarily in the fields of commercial litigation, patents, trademarks and copyrights, employment law, environmental and toxic tort. In addition to being a Member of King, Krebs & Jurgens, Len is also the Chair of the Intellectual Property Section of the Louisiana Bar Association. His practice is full-service, and he represents a wide range of clients. He has served as an arbitrator in disputes relating to securities' dealers and firms as a member of the Board of Arbitrators.
Len was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. In 1983, he graduated from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Science in microbiology and graduated cum laude from Tulane Law School in 1987.
REPRESENTATIVE MATTERS:
- Represented owners of trademarks in litigation to obtain injunctive relief and damages against infringement
- Represented individuals and owners to successfully obtain patents
- Represented employers in successful resolution of EEOC claims and lawsuits, involving sexual harassment, sexual discrimination, race discrimination, disability discrimination, age discrimination claims and pregnancy discrimination
- Represented businesses in connection with recovery of business interruption losses and property damages as a result of hurricane damages and fire damages
- Represented companies and individuals relating to copyright disputes.
- Assisted companies and employers in connection with employment agreements, termination and severance agreements, confidentiality agreements, COBRA issues, HIPAA issues, family medical leave issues and FMLA
- Defended companies in construction disputes
- Successfully defended oil, gas and chemical companies against claims of toxic tort exposure
- Successfully defended clients in connection with arbitration of commercial disputes.
- Obtained injunctive relief and damages against ex-employees for violation of Employment Non-compete Agreement.
