Joanne Mantis has been named a 2017 Women of the Year Honoree by New Orleans CityBusinessHonorees are chosen based on their professional accomplishments and community impact, according to the business newspaper.

Joanne is an admiralty and maritime attorney focused on maritime business disputes and financial transactions. She is admitted to practice law in both Louisiana and Greece, and has been involved with mediation in London, Greece, and the U.S. A multilingual attorney, in addition to English, Joanne speaks, reads, and writes Greek and is fluent in French. She returned to the firm’s New Orleans office in October of 2011 after working in Athens, Greece, in an affiliate office of King, Krebs & Jurgens.

"I feel that working abroad has given me a different perspective on interpreting the laws and also taking into account cultural differences when it comes to negotiating and settling a case," Joanne is quoted in the paper as saying.
